who became friendly so she could have her kittens inside. Cats who have been feral for any length of time spend a lot of time hunting. Only momcats who have always been housecats are helicopter moms.

I'm getting concerned that the smallest, white/cream kitten doesn't get enough milk. The others get in there and he seems to not get passed them all. He does seem active and energetic when the situation calls for it though, so I suppose that is a clue to how he is doing.

So cute.

Wish my shelter kitty 'Winston' (aka 'Fatman') would let me bring home a little brother or sister, but he apparently wants to be an only child. Wouldn't be fair to a new arrival. Oh well...

Enjoying the kitten cam at least. All but two of them are awake and lively this morning.

probably thinking mom is at the bottom of the pile. I suppose they actually are getting enough to eat. Within the time this cam has been posted, they all seem to have developed quite a bit in terms of how much they move around.... including the littlest guy.

She only hops in to feed them for a minute or two and then hops right back out.

Her new people are planning to get her spayed and keep her, her name is Noodles.

They're not naming the kittens, but not naming the little white runt Yoda is a missed opportunity.

Does that mean kittens are finally getting solid food?

She wasn't a particularly enthusiastic Mama cat even in the beginning. Instead of Noodles, they should call her Mehitabel.

I think the humans are realizing the kittens are going to need supplementary feeding because Noodles just isn't up to the complete job.

I just tuned in and that dish has been cleaned down to the shine!

One of the orange ones stayed out of the frame most of the time while everyone else was nursing playing with the blanket. Every so often a little orange head or butt popped into view. This one seems to be in an exploring mood today.

which just happened. Now they're having a Donnybrook, happily bunny kicking each other.

Mama feeds them only until one of them bites, it seems, then she's had enough even if they haven't.

Today, there's a puppy pad under the dish and it looks like the kittens have decided it's not okay to walk on it. They try to walk around the edges.

It's very addicting. I've been checking in every few days or so to see how the kittens are doing.

I think this (right now) is probably the cutest age. Does anyone know exactly how old they are? I'm guessing about 6 to 7 weeks maybe?

They are adorable with all of that rough-housing w/each other!

Six week old kittens stalk and pounce. These guys are still really wobbly in that regard, falling on their fuzzy butts when they attempt it, or stalking and then realizing they don't know what to do next.

Six week old kittens also start to jump and that's when they usually get out of the box and it's all over after that.

And if Mama doesn't stop eating their food, she's going to get awfully fat.
