http://www.ustream.tv/channel-popup/sevenkittensYes, seven of them, eyes just opened in the last couple of days, ears starting to pop up, just starting to swipe at each other and meow in protest when someone wakes them up.

(3,584 posts)then gone the rest of the time? Does someone keep her away from the kittens? .... or does she have better things to do, like get some uninterrupted sleep?
Warpy
(111,277 posts)who became friendly so she could have her kittens inside. Cats who have been feral for any length of time spend a lot of time hunting. Only momcats who have always been housecats are helicopter moms.

(3,584 posts)I'm getting concerned that the smallest, white/cream kitten doesn't get enough milk. The others get in there and he seems to not get passed them all. He does seem active and energetic when the situation calls for it though, so I suppose that is a clue to how he is doing.
Warpy
(111,277 posts)and I know he'll get in there and shove the big gingers out of the way to get his share. He's hit all the milestones when everybody else did.
He's just the runt.
your kittens ? They are so much fun to watch...think I'm addicted !
Warpy
(111,277 posts)if I brought a stray home who proceeded to have a houseful of kittens.
I know what you mean..mine wouldn't let me forget it either

(3,186 posts)So cute.
Wish my shelter kitty 'Winston' (aka 'Fatman') would let me bring home a little brother or sister, but he apparently wants to be an only child. Wouldn't be fair to a new arrival. Oh well...
Enjoying the kitten cam at least. All but two of them are awake and lively this morning.
meti57b
(3,584 posts)probably thinking mom is at the bottom of the pile. I suppose they actually are getting enough to eat. Within the time this cam has been posted, they all seem to have developed quite a bit in terms of how much they move around.... including the littlest guy.
ginnyinWI
(17,276 posts)I'll see one or two sleep on even when momma cat is there.
Big full bellies one and all!

(17,276 posts)I hope those nice people will get her spayed.
Warpy
(111,277 posts)She only hops in to feed them for a minute or two and then hops right back out.
Her new people are planning to get her spayed and keep her, her name is Noodles.
They're not naming the kittens, but not naming the little white runt Yoda is a missed opportunity.
for this link! I am now addicted lol
They are so adorable and even more so now that they are really starting to play with each other !
meti57b
(3,584 posts)Does that mean kittens are finally getting solid food?
Last nite, poor mom looked completely buried in kittens. She probably told them ..."enough already!".
Warpy
(111,277 posts)She wasn't a particularly enthusiastic Mama cat even in the beginning. Instead of Noodles, they should call her Mehitabel.
I think the humans are realizing the kittens are going to need supplementary feeding because Noodles just isn't up to the complete job.
I just tuned in and that dish has been cleaned down to the shine!
couple of days I've only seen 6 kittens?
TorchTheWitch
(11,065 posts)One of the orange ones stayed out of the frame most of the time while everyone else was nursing playing with the blanket. Every so often a little orange head or butt popped into view. This one seems to be in an exploring mood today.
Warpy
(111,277 posts)which just happened. Now they're having a Donnybrook, happily bunny kicking each other.
Mama feeds them only until one of them bites, it seems, then she's had enough even if they haven't.
meti57b
(3,584 posts)Today, there's a puppy pad under the dish and it looks like the kittens have decided it's not okay to walk on it. They try to walk around the edges.
PotatoChip
(3,186 posts)It's very addicting. I've been checking in every few days or so to see how the kittens are doing.
I think this (right now) is probably the cutest age. Does anyone know exactly how old they are? I'm guessing about 6 to 7 weeks maybe?
They are adorable with all of that rough-housing w/each other!
Warpy
(111,277 posts)Six week old kittens stalk and pounce. These guys are still really wobbly in that regard, falling on their fuzzy butts when they attempt it, or stalking and then realizing they don't know what to do next.
Six week old kittens also start to jump and that's when they usually get out of the box and it's all over after that.
PotatoChip
(3,186 posts)Well, I'm glad I was wrong in guessing the ages. That means we will get to see them for probably another week or two longer then I thought. Yay! I look forward to seeing more antics.
meti57b
(3,584 posts)Someone mentioned they would start looking for new forever homes for kittens and mom-cat sometime in the middle of August. So, we have a little while more with them.
wish they'd fix the cam so we could see them. All it seems to show is the litter boxes lol
Warpy
(111,277 posts)As of yesterday, they learned how to climb and were chasing each other up and down the scratching post.
They've got to be about 5 weeks old now, changing by the day.

that was funny, they are getting really active now

(111,277 posts)It won't be long now, soon it's going to be chaos in that house.
And if Mama doesn't stop eating their food, she's going to get awfully fat.
Warpy
(111,277 posts)If you can catch them while they're active, it's truly hilarious. This is the absolute peak of kitten cuteness.
watching them now in that bedroom. They chase each other all over that room and up on the bed, under the blanket and down again. It's hysterical. They are all so adorable.
I wish I had some of their energy !
PotatoChip
(3,186 posts)Was confused about the empty bedroom since I hadn't checked in for awhile. They must just be out and about.
Look forward to seeing them.
sometimes it shows the empty bedroom , not sure where the kittens are but I guess back in the little room. But gosh
when they are in there, it's hysterical...LOL
meti57b
(3,584 posts)...after many days when it looked like the kittehs spent most of their time under that bed.
Lots of chasing, wrestling and just having fun.

Warpy
(111,277 posts)they've started arching their backs and tails, running sideways, and puffing out their fur in fake outrage.
They're cutest at five weeks. They're funniest at seven weeks.

(3,584 posts).. nothing as good as having good ol' mom for a tasty snack.

I'm going to really miss them !!!
meti57b
(3,584 posts)It is good that they will have a forever home. They will always be a little bit ours, also. We will remember them.
