Enough is enough. American business has taken a historic plunge over the past month. Its time to consider a practical plan for protecting public healthwhile also allowing for a return to work and, hopefully, a revival of the economy.
Oh, who am I kidding?
On behalf of cats everywhere, Ill just say it: We want everyone out of the house.
It was cute for a while, but the party is over. Were sick of this quarantine, shelter-in-place directive.
Sheltering in place? Thats a cats job. Cats invented sheltering in placesleeping in the windowsill, the corner of the couch, the sock drawer in the closet and, if it gets a little too noisy, under the bed, eyes open, annoyed. Cats know what it takes to stay home all the time. Were just tired of sharing our home with everybody else.

(12,170 posts)My cat is more dog-like, I guess. She loves having us around, and often is agitated when she wakes up from a nap, thinking the house is empty, until she finds a human to hang out with (or feed her for the umpteenth time that day!).
Of course, people who share their homes with cats know that most cats are not aloof or selfish. They just have a different vibe from dogs.

(17,640 posts)...I moved here in Dec and we had -20 temps. The tranquil stream through our property froze solid and then BOOM we had a warm up and the entire stream was now one large moving iceberg, took out our bridge..and the drive way and part of the road. we hiked out with our old Golden..leaving the 3 cats with a huge pile of food and buckets of water...the deck up stairs had a dog/cat door and lots of snow for them to snack on. 5 days later we were able to hike back into our house to get more clothes and check on the cats and there were the cats curled up on the sofa...they looked at us...yawned, stretched and went back to sleep.

(4,168 posts)They all love having me around all day, but one cat in particular is -- in her own quirky way -- the happiest of all. She spends most of the day curled up on a corner of the kitchen table that been turned into my office desk.
