ORLANDO, Fla. Its been more than two years since Hurricane Irma smacked Florida around, and one Florida womans cat went missing.
The two were reunited this week, though, when the missing cat turned up in Hillsborough County and the sheriffs office was able to find the owner.
The cat turned up on Christmas Eve to one of the sheriffs offices district headquarters. Deputies took the cat to a veterinarian and found out it had a micro chip with its owners information.
Sheriffs Deputy Katelyn Kotfila, whose brother Deputy John Kotfila Jr. died in the line of duty in 2016 and has a dog park named after him, reached out to the cats owner and organized the reunion.
The cats name is Eva, and is now back home with her family.
The sheriffs office posted images of Evas reunion on its Facebook page.
