My Lab Sophie got ahold of a $20 bill
She chewed most of it up but we were only able to find about half of the pieces on the floor.
Which means she probably ate half of it.
Told my hubby to stop leaving $ out on the top of his desk!
Darn dog did this with a $1 bill not too long ago, she's getting champagne tastes.
She seems no worse for wear.

(6,622 posts)We recovered about $50 post-Goldendoodling. Washed it off, pressed it in ziploc bags and took it to the bank. We were completely honest about what had happened to it, and got fresh bills in exchange.

(28,125 posts)Sorry about that.
Our huge 120lb blonde never chews paper unless we give her the "go" cue. Her fav chew toys are boxes! But only after she gets the cue.
Worse thing she ever did was to swipe a small steak knife off the counter and chew the plastic handle up.
Happened only once. Thank goodness she is so shameable. Afterwards, she looked like one of those poor pups in the YouTube videos who've been caught doing something bad.
She's been an angel ever since.
She was one of MiniMe's rescue puppies almost 3 yrs ago.
Isn't DU great?! We find fur babies and human friends.
Woof woof. Be good, Soph. 💞

(12,667 posts)For some reason, the kidlet was saving her $45 ComiCon spending cash (earned through household chores) folded up on the coffee table for nearly a week and she and her friends spilled some buttered popcorn on it one evening. One $20, one $10, and three $5s
The kidlet woke up to a $5 with a bit nibbled off the corner, and 1/3 of a $20, with a few scattered bits on the floor.
It took two days, but we recovered most of the rest in the back yard. After hitting all the doggie remains in the back yard with a high powered hose to "find" and clean off most of the bits of bills, we put them through a good soaking in water and bleach and drying out in the sun. We were able tape up the bills into at least 3/4 status, and took them over to the bank to get replaced.. Most of the bits recovered were over a square inch, typically strips, so it wasn't too difficult. The $5 bills were the hardest to get together.
A box of disposable latex gloves is a must.
