Related: About this forumLooks like it's that time for my Rusty dog.
He's about 16 and a half, got a gimp leg and lip cancer. I noticed he's been losing weight and having difficulty moving.
I rescued him and his two brothers one night on my paper route. someone dumped them on a county Rd about 4 AM. They had the mange, fleas, worms and were covered in fire ant bites.
That brought the herd up to eight at the time-Rusty and his brother Jake are the only two left.
This was him and his brother Jake when I first got them
Here he is with his gimp leg after he got hit by a car after some idiot let him out by holding the door open after I told him to shut the door.

(13,468 posts)He's a handsome boy. I am glad he has lived over 16 years with you though. It means he's known and shared love for a long time as dog's lives go. That's a beautiful gift.
