A two-alarm fire in west Houston resulted in the rescue of 1-year-old dog who became trapped under fallen insulation and a pillow in the back of an upstairs apartment.

Capt. David Dean administered oxygen to the pup, named Suzaku, before returning him to his tearful owner Jessica Winkie.

The blaze at 2200 Hayes was called into the Houston Fire Department at 12:55 Monday afternoon. A second alarm was requested at 1:01 p.m., and firefighters had the blaze out by 1:33 p.m.

There were no reported injuries.
