to all the pups who find terror in those displays. I still cringe thinking of how terrified & inconsolable my last doggy girl was during firecrackers and thunderstorms. It can be heart-breaking. My current little gal is not affected. What a relief!

Just sits and watches the show in the sky.
He's three years old and has enjoyed every year so far.

(17,276 posts)5. my cats hated it, too
A nearby neighbor hosted a big party complete with fireworks (we are in an exurban subdivisionn). Our three cats were quite upset--two of them hiding in the basement, one other behind the couch.
My three foster kittens were in the upstairs bedroom and kept looking at the window and thinking, "what the heck!". At 9 weeks too little to get too upset, as long as their immediate environment looked okay.
Finally they stopped at 11 p.m. and things quieted down. The next morning it seemed so incredibly quiet around here--no music, no booms and bangs.
