The container is not so big

OKAY, how they work...it is electrical and needs to be plugged in...it knows when kitty goes, and has a set of forks that scrapes the litter (must be clumping litter) box, and places the remnants into the box at the end...at which time 'it' becomes yours

Then there is always this:

I was hoping it was bigger, say maybe could hold a week so when I went away I'd only need someone to feed the kittehs and not have to deal with the litter.

If your friend/sitter is a cat lover...it would not be a big deal to clean the box

That she needs to look in the litter box at every visit because it's one way to know if any of the cats is sick. Normal poos and pees are reassuring if you can't be there all day to observe their behavior.

And i can imagine if one has diarrhea then the grate that cleans the litter would itself need to be cleaned...not a pleasant thought.

I've tried them all, and eventually tossed each and every one of them. Too much hassle in the long run, especially if you have more than one cat.
