He definitely has his "great" moments. Alas, they're frequently interrupted by episodes of seriously evil mischief.

Parrots have no tolerance for cute unless they're responsible for it. They usually reduce people stuff to its component atoms in nano seconds.

But everything else is real. I've tried over the years to get him to wear costumes, but he absolutely refuses. I always thought he'd look good in a WWI German helmet.

But if you're interested in costumed birds, there's a great book called "Mrs Ballard's Parrots." Mrs Ballard was a wardrobe artist (or whatever they're called) and she applied her creative skills to dressing up her assortment of parrots. The book is hilarious. Here are some of the photos:

I see so many other adorable pets here, but mostly dogs and cats. I was hoping some DUers might appreciate this little beast.

Where on earth did you find such a bitty little hat, and how did you manage to keep it on his head?

along with a pilgrim hat, a tiny biker helmet, a small tiara, and a petite fez over the years at various craft stores. Alas, he refused to wear any of them. In fact, all but the elf hat have been beaked to smithereens. So I saw my only options as either hot-glue the hat to his head,* or photoshop it on. Given that he'd already eaten the glue stick,* we were left with photoshop.

When he's not being sweet and trying to steal alcohol, his real personality comes out:

*I am, of course, kidding.
