England: fattest cat's human gets puppy, cat loses weight

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2862341/Britain-s-fattest-cat-Ulric-struggling-lose-weight-gets-personal-trainer-puppy-dog-whip-shape.html

Ulric the cat lives in Dorchester, England, with his human Mom. Ulric is not just your average kitty: he's been called the fattest cat in the U.K. He clocks in at two stone two pounds, or thirty pounds altogether.

Ulric's Mom tried many methods to help the kitty shed some fat. Nothing seemed to work - until a puppy joined the household.

And that is exactly why he is so fat! Dry food is full of carbs, and cats can't process them like people can.

It is protein that gives them energy, and carbs make them just gain weight. This cat should be on an all canned food or meat diet, with absolutely NO carbs. His low protein diet means he has less energy to run around and burn off the weight so he's more sluggish and just packs it on.
