Gordo, the white poodle-mix who was run over during a dramatic police pursuit captured on live television, is now resting at home after being released from a local animal hospital -- and is eating plenty of El Pollo Loco..
Gordo captured hearts last week when the small dog was struck by a van during a police chase. The dog had gotten loose from its residence and wandered into the street as the police pursuit was unfolding.
It's been a tough road back for Gordo.
The dog's body was covered in stitches and he had trouble walking after being hit. Veterinarians feared Gordo might lose one of his legs.
But Santos Son is just grateful that his lovable dog, who accompanied him to work every day, is now back home. He plans to spoil Gordo with its favorite treat: El Pollo Loco.
