Thanksgiving babysitting

I have a family member who has headed out of town for the holiday and I am caring for their 9 year old black lab.

Unfortunately, they do not care for this baby, she is left outside all of the time and not loved or paid attention too. They gave me her crate and I promptly put it inside to the bewilderment of my family member.

Right now she is laying on a warm blanket in my office eating on a big chew bone. My dogs are beside themselves! I hope this baby has a good restful weekend. The temps have been cold and I cannot imagine this baby being outside in the rain and cold.

I know, I know, it's probably not possible, but the thought of any babies having to be outside with little to no attention all of time breaks my heart. (I type this as one dog is in bed with my boyfriend and the other is snoozing on the sofa with her head on a pillow while I'm on the computer)

I cannot imagine sending this baby home after this.

It may become an issue but this sweetie does not deserve to be ignored and put outside.

I just need to get my angels to deal with her... They are very unhappy with this dog in the house!

Like you, I do not understand people who think their pets don't suffer from inclimate weather.

I wish you the best of luck in resolving this situation.

and taken home.

I am very sad, after several days of taking walks, eating bones and napping on the couch.

I cannot start a family issue but I made it quite clear how happy and loved she seemed here. Gotta not cross that line. Maybe one day it'll be a conversation we can have.

On a good note, my Bostons are ecstatic that the doggy is gone. LOL!
