I've always used the kind that looks like a comb. It works great, but the handle slides off now. I guess I could try gluing or taping it back on better, but was thinking about getting another one except I can't find it anywhere (at least not a good quality one).

A regular brush or comb is just useless on a dog with an undercoat.
