Got down to the park with Marcy this morning. One of the other regulars told me what happened there the other day.
Some ass decided it would be fun to let his dogs kill the squirrels there. He put large amounts of corn far enough from the trees so that the squirrels couldn't make it back to the trees when the dogs chased them. He did this all over the park. My friend saw one dog kill 5 squirrels. About 3/4 of the squirrels are gone just because some sadistic asshole thought it would be "fun"

2. It's not only a horrible thing to do to small wild animals...

...but it's dangerous for the dogs as well. Someone should explain the health risks and injuries he is creating with his little game. That someone should be an animal control officer if at all possible.

the droppings of a rabbit so ... yeah, not really good for the dogs either.

But yeah, this sort of stuff is sickening and people who think that stuff is funny have something truly and deeply wrong with them.

That's sick--I wonder if there is a law, even if it's only about not spreading disease by violently killing possibly carriers, it might stop him doing it again. Something terribly wrong with people like him.

It sounds as if many others are not happy about this either, so hopefully something can be done to stop this.

I know that I would be moving corn kernels whenever they were put down if I were there. And I would defy him from stopping me, because if he did, that would be a reason to call the cops and put a stop to the whole thing.

Is this a public park? Is anyone in charge there? There has to be someone who can do something about this, and I would find that person.
