Just talked to an old friend. She has 9 dogs now, all rescues!

One with no teeth, three chihuahuas rescued together, etc. She has a heart of gold I tell ya. We haven't talked in a while (lives a few states away) and at least half the phone call was about dogs.

I don't think 9 dogs is legal here!

There's a good chance that it violates a law nearl any large population, but if she can keep jtuck004 Jul 2013 #3
It can't be legal but they do have a large yard and a park nearby... Phentex Jul 2013 #6

If I had that many I'd have to pitch a tent in the back yard to live in... wouldn't be any room for me in the house.

Good grief, what the food and vet bills must look like!

They have no kids at home anymore so I guess she's replaced one food bill with another, lol. But she does take on special needs dogs so that must be an additional expense. Her husband is retired and from what I can tell, he's as much a dog lover as she is. He talks about them like they are kids.

Is that of course you'd move into the backyard and let the dogs have the house. That's what I love about the people in this group.

them up and under the radar they will probably be better off there than with any outside solution.

That's a lot, though. Hope she has a least one helper.
