in my side yard. Most times it's 4 cubic yards to 10 cubic yards. I put cardboard down on the grass and then take the chips and start building soil.

I'm on my second year of doing this in west central floriduh and I'm beginning to get some really good soil under the chips. At this point they are about 6 inches deep due to settling and rain. It's basically a no dig method of creating a growing place for vegetables and it covers what I call carbunkles growing through the surface from the oak roots. It really sucks tripping over them, this fills and levels those areas.

I'm also incorporating square foot gardening in the plan using raised beds, My largest bed is 10 x 12 ft with 4 rows of plants. Cukes/tomatos/turnips/more tomatos.

smallest bed is 12 iches wide x 48 inches long, 10 inches deep.. Nothing has been started or grown in that one. Other beds are 48 inch x 48 inch with cukes, collards, strawberries, squash, and eggplant.
