Wall O' Water review

So I bought two different brands of the "Wall O' Water" season extender to try to get tomatoes a few weeks faster this year. I can report that at least one brand works well! The original Wall O' Water.

I started with indoor started tomatoes, with hardly any hardening done to them - according to many sources the season extenders do that for you. The darker green is the original Wall O' Water, the lighter green is Gardeneer By Dalen. I planted the tomatoes deep to keep them low in the teepee shape for frost protection. In just two weeks a few tomatoes have grown clean out of the season extender, and it's still April in New England! The other product from Dalen also has protected the tomatoes, but they don't grow as fast. I think the plastic is too opaque.

Varieties Planted:
Black Cherry
Pink Brandywine
Black Krim
Mortgage Lifter
Brandy Boy

As for the grass, I'm aware it's a mess - the soil in the New England Uplands is poor and a key reason I use raised beds. I also tore up the grass constructing my new beds.

As for my cool weather crops -The broccoli and lettuce have taken off.

He just recently passed away. How sad. Until I Googled to see where he was, I did not know he had passed away. He was buried today.

Dr Wallace lived two properties away from my parents. He worked as a scientist for the DoD (Department of Defense). We were using these plant protectors before they went on the market. What a kind man he was. RIP Volney.
