Weeded, pulled, hacked, snipped, dug, mowed, piled, shoveled and raked this morning. Tired. (Original Post) htuttle Jun 2013 OP

main reason i have them is to work the soil. in fact, i am somewhat seriously considering renting out a pair of hens in a tractor. (a moveable chicken coop, not a john deere)

So hot & humid but so worth it. I love to see our garden and various plants looking nice & kept. Got a miniature fruit cocktail tree & grapes going nicely along with our raspberries. Planted last year. Fingers crossed, hoping they bear fruit this year.

Our raised garden is small but I have my faves planted. Green beans, wax beans, jalapeños, Argentina peppers & of course cucumbers. We would put in more. But my wife insists we use part of it to plant gladiolus. She loves them, her favorite flower. Truth is, I'm partial to them too. Such a beautiful flower. My In-Laws have a huge garden we help with. So we get a lot from that.
