Google is my handyman

The hot and cold water in my kitchen stopped while I was washing a few dishes.
I put in a call to our maintenence man, and left a message.

Then I noticed the water in the bathroom was working fine.
So I googled “no water in kitchen but bathroom water OK”.

It suggested a calcium buildup in the kitchen faucet.
I have a Pur water filter attached to the faucet. Periodically I change the filter, but have not removed the section attached to the faucet since installing the filter two years ago.

Sure enough, there was a collection of green gunk on the screen where the two parts meet.
I took a Q-tip, cleaned it out, and now the water works fine.

Called the maintenence man (again), and left a message.
Said “Fuhgettaboutit.”

Saturday in our new house (we have had the inspector from hell)...and cap the pipes involved. We looked at google and watched a couple of videos...went to home deport for the plugs that don't need soldering and pipe cutters...and we were done within two hours. We had to break the toilet as the bolts were rusted to the concrete, but a big hammer worked just fine.

But the better option is Youtube, there are numerous how-to videos on just about any topic. I've made some myself

Google is a handyman for sure but youtube always helps in solving the issue by gathering all the information.
