Made this make-ahead gravy yesterday in between candy making and organizing my Tupperware drawer 😂 Took forever but was yummy.
Saved half for Turkey day and used half with roasted chicken quarters at dinner. Really good gravy. Probably the best Ive ever made.
Were smoking our turkey so I added a dash of liquid smoke. And I put a quarter cup of powdered cream in with my flour to make it richer - but Im not sure I needed it!

(2,440 posts)I envy your energy! Ive been a total slog as we approach this holiday. No use getting excited. Were staying home alone. I did go out and buy a pre-cooked turkey yesterday.

(131 posts)You mentioned powdered cream. Could you explain what that is? Do you mean a type of coffee creamer?
Thanks!

(1,568 posts)... its on Amazon.com. I looked for some shelf-stable things this time last year when we started hearing a bit about the virus. And I got powdered heavy cream. I keep reordering, its great for soups, sauces and gravy but you dont have to take up room in the fridge or have any go to waste.

(2,336 posts)Seems pretty edible to me, bits of vegis, turkey or chicken bits -- that must be used in some fashion? This also seems like an awful lot of effort and extra expense for gravy but maybe that's just me.
