...she also made grape nut pie and ritz cracker pie! Loved my grammy!! My poor grand kids dont even get cookies..no one wants carbs or sugar.

jealous,the rhubarb we get here in the Desert makes lousy pie or even sauce. Pillsbury used to have one of the best ,nice balance of sweet and still tart.

We used to grow rhubarb in our back yard when I was growing up. My advice is any recipe you find online for strawberry rhubarb pie or anything is to cut the sugar by at least a third or maybe half. It's just a personal preference, because I love tart and sour things, and I love the flavour of rhubarb, and too much sugar just weights down the bright flavours of the rhubarb and strawberries.

was to paint the cooked pie shell with chocolate before adding the strawberry filling to keep the crust from getting soggy. Because of this method, I chose to use less sugar in the strawberry recipe. I melted dark chocolate chips & let it harden before adding the filling. I turned out pretty well. 🍓🥧
