it was summer... I left a frosty in my car for a while with the windows up. Came back like 3 hours later... the frosty was warm to the touch... and the same consistency.

6. I make my own Magic Milkshakes

Got the idea online - they used:

1/2 cup milk (or milk substitute)
1 Tablespoon cocoa
1 Tablespoon sugar (or to taste - I use sugar substitutes, usually Stevia)
1 cup of ice
Process in blender until smooth

I've adjusted it - I make a sugar free hot cocoa mix based on Alton Brown's recipe (find it online) but use Stevia instead of sugar. I use a scoop of that, a scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup of milk, and a cup of ice. Blend until ice is chopped up, then use the smoothie setting until well blended with few ice chunks.

It doesn't freeze well with that amount of ice in it, but it is a low calorie milk shake alternative. I also make a mocha version by adding a teaspoon of instant coffee that is luscious.

Thanks for posting. Your milkshake sounds terrific!

The hot chocolate mix sounds perfect. I'll be changing my mix to add the cornstarch. I usually add a scoop of mix to my morning coffee. Cheap mocha!

Thanks again.

I've tried it with and without. With the cornstarch when making hot cocoa, I think it adds some smoothness to the mouth feel as it thickens it slightly. Without it, the impression is that the cocoa is a thinner consistency.

I like the milkshakes made with it - they really fill the craving for ice cream with a lot fewer calories.

A tip - I ran out of the Publix fat free dried milk and ordered some Milkman brand dried milk from Amazon. It is low fat, so slightly more calories, but it mixes better and is creamier. You can buy Milkman directly from the manufacturer: https://milkmanmilk.com/

It's kinda expensive but it is available and actually is better.

I've never noticed it. Instant coffee is cheap and provides more than enough caffeine and flavor to my tea adjusted body.
