I don't know what to call this. It's a taco built like a torte. The layers are seasoned ground pork, corn tortillas, and cheese. On the top is chopped coriander. So "Taco Torte?" It's the RG's invention.
I also baked a sheet of my cranberry-walnut oatmeal cookies for dessert.
Today was kombucha bottling day. Yes, I still buy a lot of my kombucha but I am looking forward to summer months and want to be able to experiment with my own flavors as the stone fruits and berries come in.
Imagine flavors like these:
blackberry lavender
mango jalapeno
strawberry cream soda
creamsicle orange
It takes a week to ferment, so today was the day I put it in bottles with my blueberry syrup and grated ginger. Now it will be another 3-7 days to get the bubbly going. Already tasted it and so far so good. Once the fizz is to my satisfaction, I will put the bottles in the refrigerator and stop the fermentation action.
I already have two big jars going for next week's bottling.

(1,706 posts)Franconian style roast pork shoulder with vegetables. Had I been more ambitious, I would have tried to make Kartoffel Klösse, potato dumplings, which in Franconia usually are made with both cooked and raw potatoes and have a crouton or two in the middle. But I think the pork was experiment enough and we're having mashed potatoes with it.
Wish I could try your kombucha, Cher!
edited because DU ate the umlauts in the title but not the body of the message, hmm

Leftovers, but good.
FLFC had some of the pot roast.
TJ is off to work at the medical center so FLFC has the blues and is singing them loudly from the couch. We worry when she goes in now days. She is not around patients, but we worry. Maybe I'll sing with him.
