Water flavorings now come in liquids and in packets that will flavor a liter at a time.. Some soft drink companies have packaged their flavorings and the ones that are sweetened use artificial sweetener.

1) hot, cold, or doesn't matter?
2) caffeine, no caffeine, or doesn't matter?
3) non-sugar means: no sugar added, no sugar at all but still sweet, or no sugar and not sweet?

caffeine does't matter,

Re: sugar, not entirely sure, 'still sweet' would be good. I'm testing my 'taste buds;' seems somethings not working as it used to, many things just don't taste good.

Thanks, Rock.

imo, in terms of brands and flavors. Some are really nasty and weird.

When I find one I like it doesn't always follow that I like the same flavor from other brands or the different flavors of the same brand. I like the La Croix grapefruit, for instance, but I wouldn't recommend all of their flavors. Nor have I found another grapefruit-flavored water that I like.

sparkling water is a good way to get off sodas and into plain water, I can't stand fake sweeteners so I either have the sugar or drink water. get yourself a nice pretty glass and some quality ice and bottled water to make the psychological adjustment. sugar is hard to kick - treat yourself as you break the habit

- Kali, who lives on sweetened iced tea, because it is about 1/4 the sugar of sodas

They are expensive but major markets frequently BOGO six packs or have them on sale for like 40% off, so I stock up. I've haven't been into regular or diet soda for years, but once a week or so I'll treat myself to a can of Zevia Even great too if you splash into water and just use as a flavoring.

I mainly drink straight tap water with lemon or orange squirts or pieces and coffee/tea black. Coffee is really good with pumpkin pie spice and/ or cinnamon. No reason it can't work for ice coffee, add spices while it's hot maybe best. I've been drinking a lot of dandelion tea (hot and cold) lately, because it makes me feel good. It's kind of grassy, but adding the pumpkin pie spice & cinnamon make it delicious.

Iris' suggestion about adding any (mashed fruit pieces) is great. I also use smashed mint and other fresh herbs stand alone or in combo in fruits and vegs like basil or mint with strawberries.blueberries, watermelon with mint/basil, cucumber with mint/ basil, celery with citrus and parsley.( That was once in the lobby of a hotel I stayed and it was pretty good)the .it's fun making new combos all the time with whatever is around that you like.

I love this thread and hope lots of water gourmets chime in.

17. If sparkling also means fizzy we have a favorite

It's Raspberry Sparkling Ice, naturally flavored and no sugar. They have a lot of flavors but this one is our exclusive favorite.

For non carbonated we also buy Lipton Citrus Diet Green Tea. I also kind of like the Diet Peach, too. But the citrus green tea is the one we always keep around. It's a mild flavor.

One oddball drink that I like to have with smoked meats like franks or just a hamburger when you don't want sweet - a glass of water with ice cubes and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. I make it mild. It's like an alternative to beer. Beer can stand up to powerful smoked meats like corned beef or bbq. So this drink is one of those to sip on the side with a meal.

I don't like overly sweet foods/bevs. Matter of fact I barely sweeten my tea at all, much more refreshing for me. Secret tip - add a tiny amount of salt if your diet allows, better than sports drinks.

And any fruit juice will work but I have citrus trees all over my yard.
