I'm going to grill my veggies (red and yellow bell pepper, red onion, the mushroom cap). Yum!

On edit: Oops...I forgot the mozzarella cheese!

Got some olives, shrooms and a red onion. A hunk of mozarella left over from the last pizza.

As much as I enjoyed my leftover chicken and sausage gumbo, I would much rather have had your dinner!

I got a great deal on some Cajun-style chicken sausage, so what better thing to make? I should make it more often. Given that I still have part of a bag of frozen okra in the freezer, I have good incentive to do so. It was pretty good stuff, but I love crab cakes more than just about anything.

A friend gave me some roux in a jar, which I need an excuse to open.

Roux has always been a challenge for me, lol,

And this is the only way I like okra!

In gumbo, fried, pickled. Since I have a pantry full of canned tomatoes, they'll probably wind up stewed with the okra, Creole style.

Wound up at the bar at Carabbas, a chain Italian place.

We had pretty decent calimari with the usual marinara and a really nice butter/chili sauce. SO had an alright lagasgna. I had crab cakes. The food was OK, nothing special. But the two bartenders were excellent and made me a really good dirty martini.

I wasn't particular, but SO was jonesing for pasta which, being diabetic, he shouldn't be eating anymore.

I'm paying for it this morning. My body just doesn't take to fatty foods anymore especially meats. I need to get back on my Vegan train...I've been slipping bad...
