What do you do with too many blackberries?

We have blackberries out the wazoo this year--big fat juicy hybrid berries and small native wild berries. Besides making jam, and the occasional pie or cobbler, please give any suggestions for ways to use them. We will put some in the freezer for later on this year, but with just two in our household, it's hard to use up the bounty. My niece and her mom have already put up enough jelly for several families.

They're also good in smoothies, no thawing required.

Sprinkle them with sugar to make syrup, then put them in a zip-lock bag, press all of the air out and freeze them. They will last for months. She did that with peaches too, only they were so juicy they did not need sugar.
Then, since I was gifted those, I would just put them in a crust and have great cobblers and pies at my pleasure.

Blackberries have just about the most fiber of any berry. Add some blueberries/strawberries and maybe raspberries and you can make about the healthiest smoothie ever.

Berries freeze very well if they are in proper air-tight containers.

you broil (i had blueberry chicken one time at a restaurant, they were slightly carmelized and wonderful, i'm sure blackberries would work).

Fill a mason jar with berries, add sugar to about 1/3, then top off with vodka, rum, whatever. Stick in a cupboard until about Christmas. You will find lots to do with these, trust me.

Lucky you! I love blackberries. I used to make blackberry cobbler, but blackberries got so expensive that I started using blueberries, can't compare to blackberries.

here is a recipe, if you have an ice cream maker, it is delish!
Deep purple color and wonderful flavor

Frozen Blackberry Yogurt

1 bag of frozen blackberries (frozen raspberries or strawberries can be used, too).
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 cups plain, non-fat yogurt
1/2 cup milk
Place blackberries and sugar in a sauce pan and cook on medium heat until the juice is extracted from the berries, about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool a few minutes, then push the berries through a sieve or strainer to extract the juice. Discard the seeds and pulp.

Mix the blackberry juice, non-fat yogurt and milk in a glass bowl. Stir or whisk the mixture to thoroughly incorporate the yogurt into the blackberry juice. Taste and add more sugar if needed. Place in refrigerator to chill.

To make the frozen yogurt, place mixture in the frozen tub of an ice cream maker and process about 20 minutes or according to manufacturer's instructions.
For a totally low-fat dessert, serve with Angel Food Cake slices
