Slow cookers (crockpots) are evil.

Should be called slow torture. When you put them on and go to work and come home the whole house smells great and you can dive right in but, on the weekend you have to smell all that great cooking goodness all day before you can eat. Torture I tell ya. Barbacoa has been on since 8:00am,

I suffered through a slow cooked pot roast this week, and I stopped drinking because I am going on a diet tonight.

I should have kept drinking right up to the moment the diet began, eh?

that you've programmed to have a loaf of bread baked in time for breakfast.

I had to stop doing that because the smell of bread baking woke me up out of a sound sleep.

mostly only when I'm going to a pot luck and need to keep some beans or meatballs hot.
