What's for Dinner, Fri., Aug. 3, 2018

Starting off with tiger shrimp and grey sole with cockles. It's in a glass dish with white wine, garlic, and butter. It's being cooked in the oven.

Also roasted asparagus.

For dessert, goat cheese with roasted black plums.

Actually I just got home from our last day of school for the summer semester. The university treated us to dinner at a very lovely restaurant. It was a buffet, and started off with baby arugula salad and also Caesar salad. Different kinds of pizzas to go with the salad. Then for the actual lunch, there were grilled kebabs with beef, red and green pepper, and onions. Cherry tomatoes on those skewers, too. Chicken breasts, breaded, and in the most delicious wine-garlic-butter sauce. Salmon filet, baked. Mixed vegetables of carrots, green beans, and summer squash.

Dessert was a choice of two items: lava cake or cheesecake. My co-worker and I split the lava cake and had coffee, too.

We sat and talked for hours! Had a wonderful time and got to know people I've worked with for years a little better.

So it's been non-stop dining for me since 1 p.m., but fortunately I had very small portions, so I'll still enjoy the RG's meal tonight.
