Rice-cooker tapioca

I like tapioca. I don't like standing over a stove stirring constantly. So I've tried following recipes for making tapioca in a rice cooker, and they come out as sweet tapioca soup.

The recipes are essentially: add milk, sugar and egg mixture to tapioca pearls. Set rice cooker for porridge, then stir in flavorings. It's supposed to set up, but I keep getting a liquid with lumps. Any suggestions for what I can do?

Most of them don't involve stirring and are quite good.

Which reminds me, I haven't made rice pudding in too long.
