I got fresh corn on the cob, smoke seasoned collard greens, home mason jar canned green beans and cabbage boiled with golden potatoes and turkey andouille sausage. Y'all come on down.

This is the first time I have used Tofurky, and while it won't make me forget Italian Sausage made by my brothers mother in law, it was perfectly fine.

(2,302 posts)All the flavor with none of the layering. And tonight I'm going to try to make a real Cosmo...my last attempt was way too sour. I'm not really a drinker, but I need something to help me chill that doesn't come with a prescription.

(14,547 posts)chicken seasoned with a coffee/chili spice. green bean casserole and fries.
What I really wanted was whole wheat pasta with grapeseed oil, garlic and broccoli, topped with the chicken But I was completely shocked that I did not have any broccoli in da house.
Now last night...I made the best and easiest orange chicken.
Costco sells a mango/orange/passion fruit marmalade.
I didn't measure anything so use your judgement. I used 3 chix thighs. It served 2 with a little bit of leftover.
I took out about 2 heaping tablespoons of marmalade, mixed in a very little bit (1/8 of a tea) of Chinese 5 spice, I think it is strong, some crushed red pepper and about 1/2 tea. lemon juice. set aside.
mix 1 tablespoon corn starch and 1 egg. Cut up chicken into medium chunks coat with cornstarch mix. Either deep fry or fry in oil on the stove. When done take out chix and drain on paper towels. dump oil and wipe frying pan out with a paper towel. Return chix to frying pan and pour in the marmalade mix. Stir gently to glaze the chicken. remove from heat. My fry pan and burner were still hot so this was a quick step, maybe 30 secs.
I served with rice and Asian vegetable medley from the freezer section.

(14,547 posts)but I am extremely good at it. I have diverticuli, so eating out can be tricky, esp oriental food, so I try to replicate it at home. All the recipes I found for this have about 10 ingredients in it and you have to cook the marinade, cool, marinate. Total time is over 3 hours to make. I can make this in about 30 minutes, using the Costco jelly.
