We're having a friend for dinner tonight, and the RG's cooking. We're having chicken, but I don't know how he's going to fix it. Change: the RG said the porchetta looked better than the chicken at the market in Rye, so crispy porchetta it is for tonight.
Change: He's also making pasta, which he bought fresh at the same market.
I'm making spinach-mushroom-bacon salad.
Our friend is bringing dessert, and it's fruit with cheese and port wine or dessert wine.

(17,491 posts)Can I get back to you?
It is Sunday, TJ goes back to work this evening. We have lots of leftovers. I will figure something out after she heads out.
I haven't had port since my father passed away. I would sneak him a bit of Old Codger Tawny Port in the rehab facility. It improved his attitude and appetite. He was very amused at the name.

(2,016 posts)with a dry rub. I think I'll skip the sauce today. Made a pasta salad this morning, with a vinaigrette dressing. Lot's o' veggies in this one. And I'll have... whatever tickles my fancy. It's a lazy Sunday for me.
Edit: I'm going with baked beans...
Some leftover take out fried chicken (breading, skin and bones removed) was marinated in a vinaigrette, with sliced raw mushroom and cooked green beans.
After an hour or so the marinated chicken etc. was placed on bed of lettuce, celery and broccoli florets. Some goat cheese was crumbled on top.
I also had a small bowl of my bean soup.
I am too full for dessert.
Perhaps a cookie or two later with some hot tea.
