A cheap and stylish warm dessert in less than 30 minutes: Brie, pears, nuts and honey
I forgot where the original recipe is from or what it was like. This is my variation.
- wheat-tortillas with 20cm/8inch Diameter
- Brie
- canned pears (no skin, no core)
- a few walnuts
- decoration: a little bit of butter, a little bit of brown sugar, some honey
1. Fold a tortilla in half and open again, so there stays a mark behind that shows where the halfs are.
2. Cut the Brie and the canned pears into 0.5cm/0.2inch slices. (I suggest leaving the rind on the Brie. The final taste is better.)
3. Put some slices of Brie and pear on one half of a tortilla (only one layer), sprinkle some crushed nuts on it and cover with the other half of the tortilla.
(Can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge up to here.)
4. Spread a little bit of butter on top of the tortilla, sprinkle with a little bit of brown sugar. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at medium temperature. (Baking-paper madatory: The cheese will slightly run out of the shell.)
5. Decorate with honey and serve immediately.
The result:
Molten Brie in a crunchy shell, with fruit and honey.
