What's for Dinner ~ Friday Feb 17th

Hope you are all healthy and happy. ?

I'm not eating much, and am getting pretty queasy from this sinus infection, so I haven't been posting on the threads. I miss reading about all your yummy meals, but I am just not up to it right now.

Leftover pot roast sliced and heated in leftover gravy. Served on thick-sliced bread to hold plenty of the yummy gravy. The pot roast was so good the first time and it will taste even better tonight.

Get better Luc.

with potatoes and carrots in crock pot.

Feel better, Lucinda. Try some crackers and 7Up or ginger ale.

edited to add -- I tried the glaze recipe I posted on some salmon last night. I added 2 cloves of pressed garlic and some pepper. Let it come to room temp. Smeared it on the salmon, marinate. Seared on top of stove. It was really good.

I like to buy a big chunk and make tons to corned-beef/baked potato hash with the leftovers.

for the contributors and organizers in the Queens World Wide Film Festival (NY). I'm taking a vegetarian Shanghai Noodle Salad that has been a big hit at parties. It tastes delicious and has no gluten or dairy. I veered off the recipe and toss in all kinds of interesting veggies: bamboo shoots, baby corn, blanched snow peas and asparagus, zucchini, scallion, carrot, roasted red pepper, and a shower of fresh basil and cilantro at the end.

Mr. Pup's animation of Singapore-based jazz musician Shawn Letts' song "Cicak" is premiering at the festival on Saturday, March 1. Here's a link to the YouTube presentation:

We have them often. Sometimes I buy the Brussels sprouts on the stalk if the price is right and we eat them for days.

I cut them in half (after trimming) and toss them with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and a few sliced garlic cloves. Roast at 450 F. for about 10 minutes, or to the degree of tenderness you like .

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I didn't get to go to the pot-luck tonight because I put my neck, shoulder, and ribs out and only ice kills the pain. I'm identifying with you tonight; we're not getting to do what we'd really would like to do and that just makes me feel lousier. Keep your spirits up, girl! You are missed around here!

P.S. 50# of kitty litter delivered to the front door. That'll do it.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Lucinda. I have never had the misfortune of having to endure a sinus infection, but I hear they're no fun, whatsoever. I'm sorry you're having to deal with one.
