Unless you burn it, there is nothing you can do to bacon to make it bad.

Candied
Covered in chocolate
Wrapped around a scallop, steak, roast, etc...
Plain

I have a local butcher who smokes whole pork bellies for me. He is my best friend. He does not know it, but he is.

Frying it on the stove makes such a mess. Baking it is the only way to fly.

put it in without preheating. I would say maybe ten minutes or so. No more than about fifteen.

I was having a 'Brekkie Dinner' for my family one weekend and got the bacon started first so I put it in the oven on low after I fried it (not crispy just medium). It stayed there for quite a while as dinner was later than planned, and the results were fantastic.

All even soft crispy. Best way to do it, imho.

do it on a rack and all the grease drops down into the pan below, instead of spurting all over the top of my stove.

When the pan did not clean up properly, I bought another. Just recently occurred to me. Line the pan with foil. When done and cooled, roll up and toss the foil.

I do turn it over once during the process. Cooks in about 12 minutes at 350 degrees or so.
Best part, no mess!

I have not been buying bacon because I hate that my spouse makes it and leaves the mess for me. Is that awful?

Maybe I just need to live with a dirty stove.

Frying bacon makes such a mess.

Baking it makes less of a mess but it will get the oven a little dirty. Need a self-cleaning oven and the problem will be solved. lol

and then I end up either cleaning it before I can use it OR having the splatters bake on making it harder to clean. Grr...

I did lash out one day by saying I'd just BUY a new one when this one got too dirty to clean!

Been married 20 years and all.
