What's for Dinner, Thurs., Dec. 17, 2015

Woo hoo! Last class tonight at two of my schools! So one comma test to administer, then grades, then holiday break! Yay!!

I'm going to make meatballs for tonight. Maybe a little steamed broccoli with grated parmesan cheese over it.

I thought it would be a good way to use up the last of the fresh veggies before leaving on break.

I take the red-eye out on late Saturday/early Sunday.

I hear it has been relatively warm in the Northeast, but I'm packing my snow boot just in case.

May the shellfish-fest begin!!

That's what is keeping it so warm. It is encapsulating the cold and not allowing it to come our way. A few years ago, it was just the opposite and it was incredibly cold. Right now I am in a sleeveless knit top, completely comfortable.

(Notice I'm practicing my accent again.)

My older bro is heading to Brooklyn on the day I land...which sucks, because I like hanging out in "The City". He'll be back the next day. So, no NYC visit for me this time. (I'll have no car when I land, and I'm at the mercy of those who do.)

However, the usual poker game is in order....A few old chums coming together, playing poker - which is an excuse to play catch-up - and find out who gets the bragging rights to win everyone else's 10 bucks. (We play penny-nickle-dime poker, since most have family and all that comes with that.)

I am looking forward to hanging out with the family, and heading to the coast to haggle with the lobster guys for a live dinner. (Actually, I'll leave that to Ma, she's shrewder than an Arab trader when it comes to haggling.)

I must say, I need to find a way to get a whole bunch of quahogs, steam them, freeze them, and take them back to SoCal. Because I really do miss homemade chowder. And that canned sh*t just doesn't cut it - no bellies, no flavor!

with onions, green pepper, and diced tomatoes and served it over pilafi. Wow those sausages were hot!

i just wandered around the grocery store until something looked edible and i made a good choice. i've been sick and nothing has really sounded good, not that i've felt like cooking. husband hasn't been feeling all that hot lately, either, so he's been of no help.

i just have to make it to the 23rd and i'm done until after the new year. i am so ready for a break. hope you enjoy yours!
