What's for Dinner, Fri., Aug. 28, 2015

I'm having another one of the meals the RG prepared for me. This one looks like some type of pork stew with vegetables.

I'll also make a tossed salad and have a side dish of green beans.

in spaghetti sauce, with sliced red onion and red bell pepper. We'll do em up as grinders tonight.

I picked a half dozen apples and peeled them, to get a rough idea of how bad the bug damage is, and to check ripeness. Flesh is still greenish, so not quite time to pick, and it looks like on average, I'll be pitching about 50% of each apple to make sure i don't get any bug protein in my apple butter.

with a mac salad I just made, and baked beans (B&M, if it matters - I'm such a Yankee.)

Also - Bought some Hatch chiles today, roasted them up on the grill, sweated them to remove the charred skins, and froze 'em for later use. Salsa verde, anyone?

I noticed that one in the bunch was super-hot. After taking off the skins, they all look the same.

I hope I don't need just one, and pull that one!

I'm playing stone soup with a can of campbells potato soup that I think the store meant to price at 90¢ but instead marked as .09¢. Got some mushrooms, sausage, onions, carrots and lemon juice added in (all markdowns). Plus I am making some vegan baked beans that were free with a coupon for some protein, and a thing of refrigerated biscuits that were marked to 25¢. I'm thinking the whole thing is about 75 cents for the two of us combined.

with coconut mashed potatoes, a green salad, and dinner roll for my darling. I can use my hands today! Mr. Pup did the mashed potatoes. Oh, and a nice glass of red wine.
