Today I am making vegetarian dishes all day long, something I love to do in the summer. I like to see what's in the garden and make delicious use of it.
A dish I am making right now is Swiss Green Beans, a Mollie Katzen recipe. I will use green beans from my 12' tall teepee of green beans that is right outside my window.
I put so much compost in this container that the leaves on this green bean plant are as big as my hand!
I have a beautiful peach and some raspberries to use today--not sure what to do with them. Maybe almond-flour pancakes, or mix them with a cantalope.

(2,016 posts)with garlic and onion right now. First, low and slow in the oven, then fast and hot on the grill for a few minutes. Not sure about the entire meal yet (sides, etc.) but I have time to decide.
ps: NJCher is putting up garden *pron*. Very sexy.

on edit: you know, you got a lotta' nerve talking about low and slow and fast and hot.

(6,082 posts)I haven't had a vegetable garden in years. I really think I need to plan one. Or at least grow a few tomatoes.

(24,146 posts)and there's no way we're saying no to that
the original plan was pulled pork, but i'm going to toss the roast in the crock anyway to get us through the next couple days. we got a new project at work and i'm going to be working late indefinitely, so i'm going to get ahead every chance i get.
so did you get your cookies in NY? What kind of cookies are they?

(14,733 posts)Because we didn't plan far enough in advance, and only started working on dinner at 5:30 or so.
Still been working on cutting things down to size, but I left a number of limbs long, just with side branches trimmed, so I can actually start using them as garden stakes. Not sure how well they'll hold up, maybe I need to plant some bamboo to harvest instead.
Saw something interesting at the store today. I'm always keeping an eye out to see who is using the GMO-free logos, and I spotted a couple of new entries in the flour section. But what was interesting was not that they were GMO-free, but that they were mixes. One was a wheat flour and white grape seed flour mix, and the other a wheat flour and red grape seed flour mix. I was intrigued, but not enough to buy either yet. I'd never heard of using grape seeds to make flour.
