...just got the smoker and this was the maiden voyage...the chicken was marinated in a pineapple base and smoked for two hours in mesquite. I thought it was real tasty!

with onions and mushrooms. I think that's all I will handle once the vino gets uncorked after work. However, tomorrow I'll attempt a lasagna. I've been jonesing for that all week.

Edit: catnhatnh - that looks AWESOME!

I've got an onion hanging around that's just begging to be sliced up and sauteed. Maybe I'll do something with it for lunch tomorrow.

when I was in college - usually after spending every penny at the local bar, but needed a munchie before bed.

perhaps an asiago-crusted chicken breast used in some form or another, maybe over spaghetti and marinara.

It's been raining all freaking day, and I've only been able to get out to pick briefly, so I haven't even hit 8 gallons yet. On the other hand, looking over my recipe notes, I've already probably got enough berries to make something in the neighbourhood of 10 dozen plus jars of jelly, which suggests that it's time to stop letting the patch take over any more of the yard, and start focusing on other crops, like putting in more of the cherry bushes and getting the blueberries up in production.

(Edit: Just got out to pick during a lull in the rain, and NOW I have 8 gallons total, so back on schedule

I've got lots of greens, veggies on hand to make a decent salad. Just need a protein and a a kick. So, it's curry & tuna in the mix.

Plus, it's warm here and I'm looking to make something simple - just slice, dice and toss.

my first tomato off my own plant.

Ah, the first tomato! I know that feeling.

I was lazy today. All I did was work on computer problems, of which I have many.

Wanted a pizza and even assembled the crust ingredients, but didn't get it made. I guess I just didn't feel very industrious, so maybe I'll make it tomorrow.

Thus I caramelized some onions and put them over a beef patty.

Then I had some watermelon for dessert. There was also a little lemon sorbet in the freezer, so I knocked that off.

Cher

p.s. Exciting about your new house, cbayer! Hope to hear more in the future. And fizzgig, you, too! I hope we hear about your interesting day going to see Bernie and meeting a fellow DU-er.

'cause you can do them in the microwave and it is too freaking hot to actually cook.
