First of all, its February already?
How did that happen?!!
I feel like I have slept through most of the winter (and I have)
Anyway, about dinner?
I'm not sure yet.
Bill is going to run to the store this afternoon, and he will drag some "prize" home.
He's very fond of shopping the "used " meat (as he calls it) and loves to get a great cut of something at a good price. It's a good practice here too, because we really do think they jack prices up for the weekend vacationers.
Anyway, my dinner is in the hands of fate, and a cute fella from Florida.
What's for dinner where you are?

(60,014 posts)water saute onion, garlic, celery, sweet peppers, a peeled apple (!) , and a few japapeno until tender.
Add some carrots, lots of tomatoes, three types of beans - some red wine.
spices - a little salt, lots of black pepper, cumin, chile powder, red pepper flakes, paprika, parsley, a little molasses (!)
about 20 min before serving, add frozen green peas and frozen corn.
Served over brown rice. Very delicious!

(31,170 posts)Well I like the broccoli.... Bill suffers from a lack of broccoli appreciation.
One of his few culinary flaws.

(47,675 posts)I just finished breakfast at 11:53. I haven't even started to consider what dinner should be.

(31,170 posts)You seem to be a very creative cook.

(47,675 posts)I had to handle a tech support call and that was quick and easy. I'm still working on the case, but the system is in much better shape than it was. It's still fucked, but at least not dead in the water. I'm basically stuck at the house for a while (hurry up and wait) while the machine does it's thing. That just has "snack city" written ALL over it.

(22,143 posts)broccoli. This pasta recipe calls for zucchini, but can't find any around here. Just another "can't find the ingredients I need" out here in the sticks.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)I'm sure it was killer without the zucchini though!

(31,170 posts)and I gave up trying to sleep. Couldn't shut my mind off. We were talking about selling the house and moving somewhere new earlier, so my brain was playing with the possibilities.

(12,253 posts)Clean your oven. You won't feel like cooking after that. I worked up quite a sweat, but wanted to get it done while the weather is warm enough to open the windows wide.
I'll probably roast a salmon filet for dinner and serve it with goat yogurt mashed potatoes and a side of carrots, onion, and sugar snap peas. No filo mushroom bundles tonight! Something REAL easy.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)And the hardest part about cleaning my oven is wiping out the ash. Not much exercise in that for me. It's wall mounted with a cleaning cycle
I do have to work around being short with an ample chest and average length arms though. So I do suffah a teeny bit.

P.S. My dad's second wife used to call me Tits-on-a-Stick, so I identify. LOL!
Thats quite an image!

(9,791 posts)Mashed potatoes, pork gravy and steamed cauliflour rounded the whole thing out. It was very good.
