I have been using this for the past month and highly recommend it.
Many of the people who post here cook for one or two. For me, it's sometimes a challenge to adapt recipes to smaller amounts and the accumulation of leftovers can become overwhelming.
I have made about 30 recipes from this and have been really pleased with each and every one. It's really satisfying to make just about exactly what you are going to eat and it allows me to provision with just enough of what I am going to need.
It helps tremendously if you have a butcher who will give you just the amount that you need.
It also has loads of useful information of various ingredients - how to choose, store and use them.
The book is available from Amazon and is on kindle, which is perfect for me. Some kindle cookbooks are hard to use. They don't link properly to other sections, are hard to search or are cumbersome to go back and forth between recipes. Not this one. It works pretty seamlessly.

It's been a long time since I have found a cookbook I like quite as much as this.

(146,218 posts)I can make shopping lists and plan menus and have them all there when I'm cooking.
I made the basic chili with bacon last night and it was perfect. I just made my provisioning list, as we are going offshore for several weeks on Tuesday. I'm loving it!
Hope your birthday is soon, fizz gig.

(15,090 posts)I ordered a copy because I'm definitely having trouble scaling down my cooking to serve two.

(146,218 posts)I was having trouble as well and always made too much.
My husband will eat until it is gone, so making just enough for two is a good goal.
And the recipes are great.
Let me know what you think.

(2,302 posts)It's a special issue from two years back. And I have to say I do love it. I'm crazy about their Skillet Lasagna in particular. It makes just the right amount for a hearty serving each and a smaller second serving!

(15,090 posts)Cook it longer than they say, though, unless you like chewy noodles.

(15,090 posts)Tried the skillet lasagna, a couple of fish recipes, and the cauliflower gratin. They've been uniformly good, but seem sized for heartier appetites--we've always had lots of leftovers.

(22,716 posts)Haven't had a chance to look through it yet. But it was a good price--$17.99. If it doesn't measure up, Costco lets you return anything!
