what's for dinner - thursday, feb 26

it cold and flurries here today, so i'm tossing a pork roast in the crock pot. i'll shred it, top with bbq sauce and make sandwiches. left over mashed on the side.

i know i have no right to kvetch about the cold, but it's been such a mild winter that it's a shock.

I have to work late tonight, so an easy Stouffer's lasagna in the oven is in order. With a small salad, and a glass (or three) of wine. Friday is a day off for me...

I've lost like 10 lbs. that I couldn't afford to lose in the first place. I need a big, sticky cheeseburger with hash browns from Waffle House.

I'm tired, I'm having something horrible for me, but that I love.

Waffle House Double Angus patty melt, and hashbrowns scattered, smothered and covered.

Every now and then amidst eating healthy beans and rice, or delicious grilled meat, I need some calories.

I think that is the best chunk of a hamburger I've eaten in quite a while. It was juicy, full o' onions, and I had a pile of hashbrowns.

I don't eat that way often, I'm usually pretty healthy, but I needed it.

Poor DH has had a week of dental work and is feeling poorly. Will chop up some rotisserie chicken for him and am making some goat cheese and garlic mashers.

Hope you are well.

i'll turn them into sandwiches tomorrow. we've eaten pork this week, but it's what was in the freezer.

we've been in the 40s and 50s most of the winter, but the snow and cold has finally hit.

Open faced on some lettuce, topped with Dijon mustard, mayo & ketchup sauce. Salty sliced cucumbers and radish on the side.

Wish I had made two...

we've had 2 storms dumping 7 inches of snow each. To get out of our driveway (or, more correctly, to get back UP our driveway), it has to be shoveled.

But it's nothing like Boston.

I made the most incredible soup. Used no recipe; just did it to taste.

Chopped onion, carrot, celery, rutabaga, in vegetable broth that I also made myself. Added TJs butternut squash raviolis. Put in chopped spinach and fresh oregano, too.

Meatballs with sririachi sauce.
