with which we'll also use up the rest of the black raspberry chicken, sliced up over top. Since we're down one dog and I'm on protein restrictions now, we're still trying to figure out how far we have to downsize our protein purchases so as not to constantly have leftovers.

I haven't made a meatloaf in, maybe, 12 months? It's time to breakout and make an old standard from yesteryear.

With a baked potato, and seasoned corn. I shall not spare on the ketchup topping. (I'm not a brown gravy guy when it comes to the beloved meatloaf.)

It's what I was going to make last night, for Chinese New Years, but it was just too cold to go out then and get the ingredients. It was a bit warmer today.

Marinated flank steak all day in....olive oil, crushed garlic, lime juice, red wine vinegar, honey, fresh rosemary, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce...

sides were...

Roasted fingerling potatoes; dry oven roasted with 15 bay leaves, then seasoned with salt, pepper, butter when served.

Roasted cherry tomatoes in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dash of sugar, Herbs de Provence, salt pepper...added whole shallots...served with crusty bread.

that's it....

with brown rice -- leftover chicken from yesterday, mango salad, and some naan from Trader Joe's. Also some sauteed spinach with lemon, and I think I am going to make another berry cobbler with summer's berries from the freezer.

Turkey soup
The box of onions I bought recently included one random yellow squash, I pureed it and one onion into the broth to thicken it. I added a can of corn, some pasta, chunks of turkey, and oyster crackers on top.

Luckily, we ate in the dark, watching tv, so the overwhelming yellowness wasn't staring us in the face.

It doesn't take all that long for the dough to rise, and normally with pizza you skip the second rising that bread gets. Me, I shape the pizza in the pan, then let it rise another 15 or 20 minutes.

Eight slices. I ate two tonight and so I have three more meals. And the total cost is probably around ten dollars.

Homemade pizza!
