I bought these pre-marinated wings and they might be super spicy, I'm not sure.

The sauces are honey/mustard and peanut/soy. Some rice with corn to round it out.

Getting a little low on provisions, particularly produce.

I had no sauces in the house, but my wife had picked up some drumsticks a few weeks ago. She said that I could make some wings for us while we watched the football game.

So I went through the fridge, took some butter, and Sriracha sauce, and simply melted the butter and added the sauce over low heat for a few minutes. Once the color went from a deep red to a creamy pinkish color it took it off the heat. Came out quite good. After frying the drumsticks, I tossed them in the sauce and then put them under the broiler for about two minutes. They were great. Highly recommended for a quick and easy (and cheap) wing sauce.

We are currently traveling around the area between Puerto Vallarta and Barra. Lovely anchorages with very few people and generally no commercial areas to speak of.

What a life.

Whipped potatoes
Turkey gravy
Stuffing
Green beans with garlic butter

I scored a really nice french baguette today, so mebbe I'll butter some of that for an appetizer when the bird begins to smell nice.

Lot of starch, lot of butter, yum.

That sounds delicious.

I will probably make some cheeseburgers. I have some salad on hand also.

Hit Carmine's Italian Market for proscuitto, a variety of olives, pate, and pignolis. Then on to Whole Foods for Sardinian cheese, some beautiful fresh bay scallops, and wine. Fun time with my DH valentine and a wonderful dinner to look forward to

I had to have a window!

My oven loses a huge amount of heat when it's opened, so the window makes it much more efficient.

13. Guacamole and homemade tortilla chips

I found the recipe online; it's Ina Garten's. I wanted a spicy guacamole, as I had tasted one when I was cruising Costco on Friday. It was so good I would have bought it--but I don't have a Costco card!

I sprinkled the corn tortilla chips with Adobe seasoning. Turned out great. I made them with corn tortillas, sliced into triangles.

I also made a chopped salad with crunchy vegetables and mixed in chopped walnuts and topped it with Chinese noodles. The dressing for this was chipotle ranch, also spicy.

cbayer, I think all ovens lose heat when opened, which is why I try to avoid opening mine when I'm baking or roasting. Yes, the oven window is terrific. I even once read that if you open your crockpot lid, you set back your cooking time by something like 30". I read that at Eating Well magazine's site.

We all went home early since it's disgustingly cold in Chicago. Decorated sugar cookies for dessert.
