What's for Dinner, Sun., Dec., 28, 2014

Just made this soup, called riboletta.

It's supposed to have a toasted bread on top, but instead I just grated parmesan. It turned out very well: love the freshness!

We are having chicken quesadillas with leftover chicken, a salad with pineapple and avocado and poached papaya with crema for dessert.

Market was today and I had my favorite sandwich, choripan. We also got fresh yogurt, berries, freshly candied nuts, scones, kiwi water and coffee! Great market.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

We have about eight pounds of ham, and half of a turkey. Oog. Lots of uncooked sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts, some pecan pie, cookies galore. Oog.

So we will have a meal of assorted leftovers, and ponder freezing most of the meat.

And that we can finally move onto cooking something new tomorrow. We really need to learn to cook smaller amounts, so that we don't end up with leftovers. But many of our recipes involve 'a bag of' this, a 'can of that', and we know that if we try to use 'half a bag' or 'half a can', we'll end up not using the other half until it's spoiled, so it's a bit of a quandry.
