What's for Dinner, Mon., Dec. 8, 2014

I have checked out this cookbook from the library called Stuffed, which is about all kinds of foods that one can stuff, like stuffed meatballs, stuffed peppers, etc. I've been watching the writer's work on his blog for awhile.

I'm hoping to find something in there to fix. I have some nice globe zucchinis that would be great stuffed with something....have to look a little more carefully to see what.

Our weather is great, at least as compared with some other places, but cool enough for chili.

(ie, stew meat marinated in teriyaki sauce, then braised, I think it's called. (Fried, but in more liquid?))

Made another batch of jelly tonight, but I need to sterilize more jars to finish off the black raspberry juice.

If I do stew meat, I always do it over a very slow flame. Takes awhile, but it's much more tender.

Love teriyaki.

Well, I couldn't find anything for which I had all the ingredients in my cookbook, so I just went with some chili I had in the 'frig. It was delicious and it's in the 20s here, so it hit the spot.

To go with it, I made red coleslaw. I used a little chopped red onion, raisins that I had steeped in hot water, and hazelnuts. Copped out with a ready-made salad dressing (Marzetti's), but it was still good.

I have a lot of bananas and turnip greens to use. I'm in month 9 of the eating on two dollars a day deal and financed my groceries this week and next by turning a small profit buying vodka and coconut vodka cocktails for the rebates.

onions, and I think there were tiny shrimp, tomato sauce. Parmesan on top. I will see if I can dig out the recipe.
It was delicious.
