(21,596 posts)I could use organic, nitrate-nitrite free hot dogs and organic pasta.
Now I'm wondering what I could whip up for a side dish. Maybe some of those insects made out of veggies. Usually, raw veggies are used, but lightly steamed fresh veggies could work!
Those things are very FSM!

(14,487 posts)I used to eat cut up hot dogs in my canned spaghetti. This looked so fun to me that when I went to the grocery store tonight, I bought all the stuff so I could make it this week with a copycat spaghetti sauce. LOL

(12,629 posts)Not nearly as dramatic as the hot dogs though. When I put it on a plate, you couldn't tell that it wasn't just pasta and a meatball. Sorry about the poor image...went to take another pic, and when I pulled it out of the pot, I found it had lost a few of its little legs.

(14,487 posts)I broke the uncooked noodles in half and cut the hot dogs smaller.
The sauce is a faux spaghetti-os sauce. And I have no children. LOL!

(32,086 posts)Both are thinner, so it should cook up easier. There are some "quick cook" pastas on the market, too. I don't know if they are any good, however.
maddezmom
(135,060 posts)and cooked and froze them but reserved a few smaller ones and just browned them up a bit and put them in the fridge. Going to try on Thursday. This might really make my son happy as he loves pasta and meatballs but with his fine motor skills issues and using a fork, it's not a pretty sight as he can't get enough on his spork and gets frustrated.
I'll tell them you are the genius.

If you've seen dog poop with roundworms in it (like I have), it looks JUST LIKE THE PHOTOS others have posted in this thread.
So when posters say, "Oh, that looks tasty!", I find that revolting.
If someone posted a picture of lunchmeat and horseradish that resembled female genitals expressing a discharge, would you say, "I'm going to make that for my kids"?

(24,096 posts)I don't eat wieners, those frothy things make me feel ill thinking about it - but yes, even pork/breakfast sausages would be better.
pork sausages then - am taking some to a family party tomorrow. LOL.
