(146,218 posts)I made a vichyssoises, which is chilling in the fridge.
And I have assembled one of those pizzas they love here that is on a paper thin crust. It's got 3 kinds of cheese, some ham and arugula on it. We shall see!
I continue to feel like I am in heaven. We visited a small town today that is the highest spot in this region. They had a bakery and a deli and not much else, but we were able to put together a picnic and just soak it in.
I do indeed feel like one of the luckiest people on earth right now.

Did your pizza have a tomato sauce or not? I'm hooked on thin crust spinach/several cheese pizza with lotsa garlic, olive oil, but no tomato sauce.

(146,218 posts)Whatever I did, I did completely wrong. the crust was glued to the cookie sheet. What we were able to scrape off was good, but it was mostly just the toppings.
I like pizza with and without tomato sauce. We are going to visit a friend in Roma this weekend and he is going to give me some cooking lessons. Top of my list is pizza (the right way).

The real fun is happening in the ice cream maker right now. I have too many bananas, so I've dumped in about a 9:1 ratio of banana to cream, with cocoa powder, cinnamon, coffee, chili powder and a bit of brandy.

(24,146 posts)she's having some vertebrae in her neck fused. she goes back at the end of the year to have a few more fused lower down in her back.
i know that she's nervous, but she's been in miserable pain for a few year now and i hope this gives her some relief.
i'm still going to try to go see her for the second one, but my husband needs surgery in the late fall and is going to miss nearly a month of work.
