I'll rate it against the knife pressing or whacking, which is my current method, which isn't totally satisfactory, depending how many cloves you deal with.

I saw the perfect jar that I was getting ready to re-cycle, but used for this (Aztec hot sauce, wide enough mouth to drop whole garlic bulb).

I threw in the whole bulb, which was reaching the state where green chutes were growing out of it. I also through in some individual cloves that I had not peeled yet. I shook it several times very vigorously and it worked beautifully!

Better late than never. This will lessen my kitchen tasks significantly, since I love to use whole garlic.

Thought ya'll would like to know!

but I do have plenty of bowls. That's easier for me, and easier to clean up

so the individual cloves can work against each other.

Saves you a little extra effort.
