I've been in a sandwich sort of mood for a while, so I may go that route - or if Bill wants to cook - Chinese!

(28,504 posts)My SO found a deal on packages of small sweet peppers, so I now have about 10 packages that have to be used or frozen pretty quickly. I love his thrifty ways but sometimes he brings home waaaay too much all at once!

(2,351 posts)When I get the chance, I freeze peppers whole. Or for that matter, lots of fruits and vegetables whole, without blanching. Works out just fine for me. It's a trial and error experiment that I haven't been disappointed with.
It's not for preserving freshness as much as useability in recipes. It's fun to try and am usually happy with results.
Oh, and by the way, I had a favorite treat for supper - sardines served on saltines. That's it.

(8,646 posts)The ginger chicken was from some boxed spice mix one of my daughters picked out at the Indian spice store nearby. It was pretty darn spicy, LOL, but really good.
Roti is a recipe that my uncle taught me. My kids love roti but I don't like to make it much - takes forever and my kids gobble it up way too fast! But I really dislike the store bought naan and roti in comparison, so every so often, when I have the time and energy, I make it.
