(146,218 posts)We are in a very remote spot and cupboards were pretty bare.
Plus I was out of cigarettes.
So we kayaked in this morning and found a small market.
I was able to get tortillas, yogurt, ham, a can of tuna, carrots, tomatoes, a pear, an apple and those so very essential little limes for margaritas.
So lots of options and DH loves him some tuna-noodle casserole with peas and carrots!

(146,218 posts)I would have made it through on beans and rice, but I had to have the cigs.

(146,218 posts)Someone gave me some e-cigs. I liked them all right, though they never really did the trick.
One night, after a glass of two of wine, I tried to light one.
Very bad idea, lol!
I never did replace it.
i've lit more than a few cigs backwards, usually after a few drinks. i'll try to not light the e-cig

With the usual carrots and potatoes, and maybe a turnip just for fun.
(The leftovers are gonna be yummy!)

(1,328 posts)our corned beef last weekend and have left overs in the freezer to enjoy another day.
We added turnips, rutabaga and parsnips along with the carrots, onions, potatoes and cabbage. Loved it.

(35,712 posts)The RG made it. Has tomato base and all the usual vegetables, such as parsnip, potato, garlic, carrots, turnips...lots of herbs, such as thyme, parsley, etc.; ummm, so good.
He also made lasagna, which we had for the first course.
For dessert, pound cake and on top he put Talienti caramel apple ice cream.
Not exactly light fare, but it's in the 20s here!
